Obedience is Humbleness

Obedience is Humbleness

This morning the sun was scourging hot and just a while ago, suddenly the sky darkened and the rains pours heavily. Lightnings and thunderstorms followed. As I saw people around me have been so scared with the sounds of explosions on the sky, closing there eyes and covering their ears. I remembered one of the preacher’s preaching in our church a few months ago. It was about obedience. He said, Even the storms, the waves, the wind that is a million times powerful than us (humans) obeyed the Lord, how much more we (humans) that is so powerless even against nature?

Remember in the Gospel of Mark 4:36-41 “And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

Jesus only said in verse 39 “Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Storms, Tsunami’s, Tornado’s and so on could kill thousands of lives just in a blink of an eye but even with there power they have remembered that there is One that is so much more powerful than them, and it is there Creator, the One who gives them power, and It’s God. You could see even with there ability, nature humbled before God and doesn’t forget the Infinite One who created the Heaven and Earth with just a Word. Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” And If you’ll read the whole chapter you’ll notice the word “God said” redundantly.

How boastful I am, not just sometimes, but almost of the times I am rebelling against God, doing everything according to my own will without even asking God about His plans. I am so helpless still yet I am so arrogant. Still, Thank you Lord, You are so powerful yet you are humble enough even to die for me on the Cross of Calvary in order for me to be with you in your Eternal Glory in Heaven. Philippians 2:8 “And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”

Nature teach us and even show us good examples how we should behave before God. Even the smallest creation of God that seems so unimportant, we could learn lessons from them. Even the Animals, if you will just observed you will learn so many things.Proverbs 30:24-28 “There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise:The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer; The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks; The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands; The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces.” Animal instinct, Human virtues. 🙂

How Great is Our God is. But what I have done I am even contributing to things that destroys His beautiful creation. Not throwing garbage properly, not conserving energy and water. Even my body sometimes I neglect taking care of, doing too much work, eating unhealthy foods. I Corinthians 6:20 “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s”. I am guilty before the Lord. What He would say when He comes back? Have I done my responsibility? Let’s ponder on these things. I know He will help us to do right before Him.

My Prayer, Thank you so much for taking the time to count me worthy to die for. Even with my wretchedness and arrogance. Lord teach me how to have a humble heart toward you and to the people that surround me. Open my eyes and give me the wisdom to know and see how weak I am and how helpless I am without you.

May we walk humbly before God. Even the most powerful creation of God listens with just Word from the Lord, how much we? Right? 🙂 May you have a blessed weekend. Tomorrow I won’t be able to sit on my computer and post. See you on Monday. May you include me in your prayers for tomorrow’s Activities for the Children and Bible Studies. Thank you, I’ll Pray for you too. Because I believe in the saying: If you can’t reach them through your feet, You can reach them through your knees. 🙂 Isn’t it great? God is listening. Don’t ever stop praying. Remember, Boldness and Persistence.
